Al Hoota Showcave
We were invited to join forces with an Oman based Environmental Consultancy, working for Oman’s Ministry of Tourism to develop on a sustainable basis, the Al Hoota showcave. The cave had been closed for some years due to periodic flooding; the overall aim was to enable the cave to function as it needed to environmentally, and to provide a high-quality visitor experience. This involved assessing what the visitor offer had been, how the visitor centre could evolve to attract a series of target markets, and what added value could be offered at the site to benefit the wider area. We also spent time working to involve the local communities, schools and artists, with the ambition of positioning Al Hoota as one of the prime visitor attractions in the Middle East, and supporting the Gulf State’s authentic, natural experiences offer.
